The Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program is hosting the next Forest Pest First Detector Training on Wednesday, September 21, at the Forest, Parks & Recreation office in Springfield. It is a FREE training (a full lunch included) on invasive forest pests. Continuing education credits will be available for ISA, SAF and pesticide licenses.
They are training people on how to identify the signs and symptoms of the big tree invasive pests: the Asian longhorned beetle, emerald ash borer, and hemlock woolly adelgid. Early detection of invasive pests mitigates the economic and ecological impact to forests and prevents pest populations from becoming established in the state. We hope you can join our free training!
