New Woodland Owner Survey

The Massachusetts foresters listed below are looking for woodland owners willing to participate in the following survey. Windham Regional Woodlands Association has agreed to make it available here on our website.

Here is what Dave Kittredge says about this survey:

As UMass Extension Forester, for over 20 years I’ve studied private woodland owner attitudes and behaviors. Collectively they own roughly 75% of all forest in New England, making their land decisions important because they shape the future of the region. We can design improved outreach and policies with a better understanding of woodland owners and their concerns.

New Woodland Owner Survey

Do you live in New England? Are you a woodland owner? Are you interested in participating in a research project designed to learn about how private woodland owners think about and engage with their land?
In collaboration with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Harvard Forest is looking for participants for a research study investigating how private woodland owners think about and engage with their land. This project involves testing a new survey method that sends single question surveys on a weekly basis. This research will not require more than 5 minutes weekly for 4 weeks. It is completed entirely online via email, Facebook, or Twitter, whichever you choose. All participation is completely anonymous and voluntary.
If you would like to help us with this project and participate, please email us before June 27th at:

Feel free to email us with any questions regarding the research study as well.

Sincerely,
Dave Kittredge, Forest Policy at Harvard Forest, and Extension Forester at University of Massachusetts-Amherst
